Dear CONN Experts,
I have significant ROI-to-ROI results (using CONN18b and Matlab2015R) and a question regarding a discrepancy between the reported significant beta value in conn and the individual subject beta values when averaged outside of conn.
Question: I wanted to extract the individual subject beta values to create some graphs outside of CONN. When I did this and averaged the individual subject beta values, I got a different number from the beta value being reported in CONN. Can someone explain the discrepancy between the values?
The significant seed to target beta value in CONN analysis results = 0.14
The average value of the individual subject beta values in the Matlab workspace = .002
I extracted the individual subject specific beta values for the significant seed to target by clicking plot effects, and got the individual subject values from the Matlab workspace (the button 'plot values' also describes it will plot and export values for each subject in the Matlab workspace, but that does not seem to happen when I try it, only the plot appears).
The values in the Matlab workspace from clicking plot effects appear to be identical to the connectivity values that are plotted for each subject below the image in the second level ROI-to-ROI results window.
Can someone explain the discrepancy between these values? I was expecting the individual subject values to average and equal the beta value number reported in conn results. When I look at the imported significant results under tools->calculator, it is also reporting 0.14. I am not sure where .002 came from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I can describe my project approach further if needed.
Best,
Nicole
