Calculation of task based connectivity

Dear Alfonso,

I have a question about the calculation of task based connectivity.

Say we have a simple block design with 'condition A', 'condition B', and 'rest'.

I understand the rationale for regressing out the task effects while denoising one's data. What I am not quite clear about how connectivity in e.g. 'condition A' is then subsequently calculated.

Are e.g. all the condition 'A' timepoints concatenated and the connectivity matrix calculated from this concatenated set? Or is something akin to the denoising step repeated where connectivity is calculated from the residuals after using regressing out the conditions one is not interested in?

I have searched the forum but I couldn't find a post making the distinction between these two steps.

Many thanks,

Rob
